Erin Vaughn is a guitarist and educator born, raised and currently residing in Northeast
degree in jazz performance under Jack Schantz, Bob Fraser and Dean Newton. Erin is
currently completing his master’s degree in music theory at Kent State University.  
Erin has enjoyed a busy performance schedule for the last 15 years. As guitarist for
Phoenix Production’s national tour of Grease, he played across the United States and
Canada. For the last five years he was the staff guitarist at Akron’s Carousel Dinner
Theater with credits including Cats, Always, Patsy Cline, SWING!, Beehive, and All Shook
Up. Other theater affiliations include The Canton Player’s Guild and the theater
department at Kent State University’s Stark Campus.
Not just a show guitarist, Erin has been an in-demand worship leader and sideman for
many local artists and can often be heard as a solo act or with his jazz group, the Erin
Vaughn Trio.
As a member of the Nashville-based Ryan Humbert Band, Erin has played extensively
throughout the area (House of Blues, Cleveland and Tower City Amphitheater) sharing
bills with Pete Yorn and Glass Harp. Along with Al Diamond Phillips Rockin Christmas Live
on December 19th, he will also be part of Ryan’s all-acoustic Christmas show “Strung
Out” at the Akron Civic Theater December 12th.
In addition to performing,  Erin balances a busy private teaching schedule along with
appointments at Kent State University’s Stark Campus (applied guitar and bass, director
of the university’s Studio Ensembles) and Stark State College of Technology (music
theory, ear training).
