City Kid
Daddy's Belt
1993-94
In 1993 after the break up of Slavenation, Al jumped into the cover
band City Kid. Mark Lewis of Slavenation played drums for City Kid, and
convinced Al that they could make some money on the cover circuit.
The band started out doing very well, and opening up doors to bigger
and better clubs than with their previous singer.

Shortly after joining though Lewis joined another cover act called
Daddy's Belt. Within weeks, Al was offered the gig as well.  Daddy's Belt
became a powerhouse on the cover circuit. Booking through two agents
Angel Gomez out of Detroit and Wayne Wetzel out of Lansing, Daddy's
Belt was able to play the better rooms around Detroit, as well as branch
out regionally throughout Michigan. This eventualy lead to a meeting
with The National cover band Angelblaze, in early 1994. Daddy's Belt
was Al Diamond Phillips on Vocals, Jimmy Taro on Guitar, Ken Williams
on Bass, and Mark Lewis on Drums.
